Keyboard shortcuts for advancing slides?

Postby tmcmack » Tue Aug 10, 2010 1:14 pm

Is there a keyboard shortcut for advancing one slide or moving back one slide while editing a viewlet? If not, I'd like to request that as a feature for a future version of VB.

For example, I'm editing a slide, moving the mouse cursor or other objects on the screen. Now I'm done with the slide and I'd like to move to the next slide. I've tried several combinations of Ctrl, Alt, Shift, arrow keys, PgUp, and PgDn, but nothing makes me advance a slide while the focus is set to a mouse cursor. I have to go to the Thumbnails pane and click on the slide I want to use. While focus is set to the Thumbnails pane, I can press the down arrow to move forward one slide, but I'd like to be able to advance slides with focus set to something in the editor or the Timeline pane.

I'm using VB Pro 6.2.10 build 1539 on Win XP.

Ctrl + Page Down is supposed to be the hotkey.

If you look in the Project Menu you'll see all the hotkeys for navigating in the project.

Let me know if its not working for you.

Odd -- Ctrl+PgDn doesn't seem to work when I have a mouse cursor, shape, or image selected in the slide editor. It also doesn't work when I click a slide in the Thumbnails pane and then click on the slide in the editor. If I set focus to a mouse cursor in the editor and then click on the background of the slide to set focus to the slide editor, then Ctrl+PgDn works. When I'm editing time lengths in the Timeline pane, the shortcut doesn't work if something is selected, either.

Would be nice to have this shortcut work more consistently. It's convenient to jump forward a slide when I finish my work in the current slide, regardless of where I am.

Thanks for the info.

I'll take a look at this and post a bug report.

Looks like this is a known issue. Scheduled to be fixed for ViewletBuilder8.

We've implemented some changes to the shortcuts to resolve this case. The version to look for is 8.0.6 or newer.
