An Inside ‘Take’ on All Things Viewlet

Hey, Viewlet Author! How much do you really know about the publishing tools/features ViewletBuilder offers? Most likely, you are aware you can publish locally, to your server, to Facebook, your YouTube channel and more. These 'publishing targets' are customizable, based on your project needs. But, there's actually another area you should be paying attention to inside ViewletBuilder that will definitely affect your published videos. Let's check this out.

In Project Properties (accessible by selecting Project > Project Properties from the menu bar), you will see various topics along the left navigation bar. These include Viewlet Profile, Image Quality, Sound Quality, Viewlet Sounds, Timing, Viewlet Options, Question Options, Language, ViewletSkin, HTML Frame and Javascript. In each of these sections, you can set up various 'publishing presets' that will be used as the defaults for the current project. Basically, it is in Project Properties where you tell ViewletBuilder what to do with various parts of your Viewlet project as it compiles it into the ultimate Viewlet video.

To set up publishing presets for your current (and even your new Viewlet projects):

  1. Open a project.
  2. Select Project > Project Properties from the menu bar.
  3. In the dialog that displays, go through the left navigation menu (Viewlet Profile, Image Quality, Sound Quality and so on) and set up or select the options in each of these areas as desired.

  4. Click the 'Save as Default Properties' button.

  5. Click the 'OK' button to close the dialog.

Keep in mind, once you click the 'Save as Default Properties' button in the Project Properties dialog, this will save the current settings you have selected in this dialog and apply them as the baseline publishing presets to this and new Viewlet projects. You can always modify these settings during project editing, prior to publishing at any time.

That's it for this blog.

Until next time...
Happy Viewleting!
