The Viewletin
An Inside ‘Take’ on All Things Viewlet
~by ViewletMarm

Close your eyes. Take a moment to visualize your Viewlet as a small video clip or film. Do you have that image securely in your mind's eye? Now, think of each slide in your Viewlet as individual frames along a film strip. Got it? Good. Keep this image in mind as you read on.

There is a feature available to Viewlet Authors in both ViewletBuilder8 and ViewletQuiz5 that will allow you to 'splice' your video project. In film-making terms, splicing is the technique of physically cutting/joining pieces of film together (not to be confused with the creative process of film editing) using a splicer. This is a vital part any movie making endeavor and can be applied to Viewlets.

In terms of editing your Viewlet, think of splicing as the technique of 'splitting/merging' one or multiple slides (in a movie, these would be the frames along the film strip). This process is not to be confused with actual slide editing (in movie terms, film editing) whereby you are editing elements directly on the slide. ViewletBuilder8 and ViewletQuiz5 offers Viewlet Authors tools (like a splicer) to split/merge (splice) Viewlet slides (film strip frames), also an integral part of the creation of any successful Viewlet (movie clip).

When would you apply this skill? Check out the videos below to learn more about mastering this technique in your own Viewlet projects.
