An Inside ‘Take’ on All Things Viewlet

Hey, Viewlet Authors! Did you know that your current Viewlet Authoring app (ViewletBuilder, ViewletQuiz) has a feature that will allow you to change the width and height of your source file slides without having to redo the entire project? If not, read on. If so, read on any way, you might learn something.

Actually, there are really two features that would allow you to change the width and height of your project slides in your QVP or VIE source file. One is the 'Resize Project' (Project > Resize Project) option, which dynamically scales and re-aligns slide elements based on your specifications. The other is the 'Crop Project' (Project > Crop Project) option, which is a better choice if you are NOT looking to dynamically scale background frames and slide elements but are JUST looking to chop off a few pixels from the edges of your slides.

To crop your Viewlet project:

1. Select Project > Crop Project from the menu bar.

2. Resize the crop area by dragging the edges holding down your left mouse button.

3. Click the Accept Crop button.

You can also view this demo to see how easy it is to crop your Viewlet project slides.

So, if you are looking to shave off a few pixels (and who isn't these days?), the crop feature may be right for you. Just remember, save a backup of your file BEFORE you crop as this action cannot be undone.

That's it for this blog.

Until next time...
Happy Viewleting!
