An Inside ‘Take’ on All Things Viewlet

ViewletBuilder and ViewletQuiz offer a lot of features for Viewlet Authors to showcase their eLearning content in video demos. As our audience becomes more and more demanding, effective use of the authoring tools at our disposal is paramount. In this blog, I want to show you how to look at one of these design techniques in perhaps a new and different way.

One feature that you can use to provide focus on an area of a slide is with a Popout Highlight. This feature allows you to 'pop out' an area on the slide for a specified duration and then have it seamlessly pop right back into the background frame. This is the most common use of this feature. Have you ever tried, though, to use this feature to say, focus on more than one area of a slide at the same time?

Check out this Viewlet to see how you can take the Popout Hightlight feature and, using a design twist, engage your viewers with added visual dimensions rather quite easily.

It's time to brush up on your authoring skills, work past boring design you see over and over again in courseware and bring your Viewlets to that next level. This is just a first step in that direction!

That's it for this blog.

Until next time...
Happy Viewleting!
