Hey, Composica authors, if you haven't done so already, make sure you check out the notifications in the Composica Updates widget the next time you log into your dashboard. On March 17, 2018, Composica announced the release of its latest version Composica 12. As always, the Composica team listens to customers input and once again, are providing YOU with many exciting new features and tools to improve YOUR business processes. This release is no exception...check it out:

Composica 12 offers:

Review Mode and Workflow
Gone are the days of trying to figure out how to get efficient input back from internal/external SMEs and reviewers at any point in the courseware creation process up to and including the publishing stage. The new and enhanced Review Mode and Workflow provides everything your team needs to expedite this integral part your workflow process.

Set the course to review-mode to allow authors to invite team members/external reviewers to review it (whether it's the entire course, specific parts/pages of a course, and/or even specific translations of a course (or any combination of these). Language-specific review functionalities included! Assign a specific language and chapters to a reviewer to save hours of work. A special dashboard allows viewers to log in to their assigned reviews and manage them with review notes, a special 'marker' to highlight problems and additional comments. Content authors can leverage this powerful (yet simple) review management system to easily monitor on-going reviews and organize reviewers and related tasks as needed.

Menu Sets
You are already familiar with Composica's extensive offering of sets while working with various features while developing your courseware content. Now, Composica 12 extends the existing capabilities of sets with menus to provide easy-to-use, straight-forward templates for a variety of layout possibilities. These allow developers/authors to create eye-catching/effective navigational menus throughout the course, saving time and effort by letting authors forego manual design/input in any menu structure. These menu sets (templates) fit in perfectly with the design language of all other Composica sets, and have the same rich color and design customization capabilities that sets offer.

And, additional features also include:

  • Contextual help buttons make it easier to find the help page for various dialogs and for the selected element.
  • Color codes can now be copied and pasted directly to/from the color palette.
  • Layout > Space ribbon options provide additional ways to easily space out multiple elements in relation to one another.
  • Lock and Group have been separated to two ribbon buttons, making it clearer which should be used in what situation.
  • More bullet options are available for Multiple Choice sets.
  • Google fonts now support the Latin-extended character set.
  • The New Project Wizard now shows a preview when duplicating a project or creating a project based on a template, along with some additional information about the source project.
