How to eliminate screen artifacts?

Postby manny007 » Tue Oct 30, 2012 8:21 am

I generally use Live Capture and Area as my Profile and Slide Size. Also, I pause several times while recording my application. F5 is my pause key setting. When I published my Viewlett I notice that for many instances it records the pause action as well. In the swf an image is displayed momentarily, which, vanishes instantly. It is not very obvious but if one observes closely s/he will spot that image.

Have you noticed anything like this? How can we eliminate this?

Btw, I noticed this behavior using Demonstration as well.

Hi Manny,

It could be that the capture engine is capturing the pause button. There is an Advanced option to control this that I think will help you.

Go to the Edit Menu and select Preferences
Click on the Advanced tab
Click on "Change Java Settings..."

In the Specify any additional VM Options text box, add the following:

Code: Select all
-Dqarbon.videoRecordingPromptVisible=false

This will completely turn off that paused button so that it doesn't display over your capture area.

Quit and restart ViewletBuilder

Hi Alex,

If you have ViewletBuilder 7.3.3 or higher there is also an option to hide the recording prompt.

I'm not quite clear on the problem you're having. If this doesn't resolve it, please publish your capture session to YouTube and post a link here.
