Need help for Certificate feature
Hi,
Would like to try the Certificate generating feature more in VC.
Are there any help file?
I would like to get to the feature that will take the names of those who took my quiz and append it to the certificate.
Also, can I add my school emblem in the Certificate as well?
Thanks!

Thanks for your reply.
So does this mean to wait for the help files?

We can capture the name and email within the Quiz and add it to the certificate no problem. We are not allowing people to add graphics, but we do have several different templates to choose from.
We are working on the help files to support it...

Viewlet
Ok,
Here is a first crack...let me know if you need anything else.

If you want to use the LOGIN panel to collect Name or Email, you can do this as well....

Hi,
I tried to assign a Certificate to my viewlet using the above "tutorial". I did everything as mentioned but was not able to receive any PDF cert when I tested this out.
I am trying to generate a Certificate upon the user completing a survey, so there's no passing mark. Is this the reason why it doesn't generate the cert?
Thanks
Q
Re: Need help for Certificate feature
Q,
That's the reason. The certificate is sent out when a passing score is achieved.

How do I get around this then, if I only want them to do the survey and get the cert after that? This is at the end of a course I've just conducted and having them do a feedback survey and have the cert automatically generated for them would be most convenient!
Or is there a way to make my survey such that there's a passing score always?
Thanks!

Q, there is an easy workaround. Just go to "Project Properties" and open the "Scoring Options" section. Make sure that the passing grade is set to 0%. This will ensure that everyone who completes the viewlet will also pass. It is important that they reach the very end of the viewlet for this to be considered "completion".

Rado,
Would like to clarify that with this procedure, does it mean that I wouldn't have to create a "dummy button" at the end of my survey to Submit Question anymore, then?
Thanks!

Re: Need help for Certificate feature
Ok, I tried Rado's suggestion but found that whenever I set the Pass/Fail option to "0%" and checked the box, that box would become unchecked, after I clicked "ok" and re-opened the "Properties option" to double check.
Seems it can't be set to "0%"?
Thanks!

Q,
I tested it as well and the 0% Passing score wouldn't stick for me either (which makes sense). I did notice that I got a passing score when I enabled the
scoring panel but using emailing reporting I confirmed that the passing score was not sent.
I think you best option is using the clickzone trick I showed you while Rado takes another look at this.

Yeah, I think so too! Looking around, I found that at the beginning of my survey, I have a button that the user would need to click to "Start Survey". I put the Clickzone around that button and, hey presto!, it works!!

I tried to link an image (via "image src=") at the bottom of the cert, but see what you meant when you mentioned some threads earlier that graphics cannot be added

Is there any way this could be done?

Thanks!

Q,
You need to use proper HTML syntax
<img src="URL" />
You will need to link to a graphic on your own server.

That's absolutely OK. Setting the score to 0% or unchecking the pass/fail option altogether has the same effect, and will result in each "completion" being considered a "pass" - this is tested and works with VB 6.x.
Re: Need help for Certificate feature
Rado,
When I tested a survey I found that the Completion was sent but not the Pass until I added a scored event to the slide
and enabled the Pass/Fail option.
I confirmed this using email reporting and comparing the output.
Can you create a sample survey that sends a certificate of completion and provide the QVP?

Here you go. It's a VIE produced by ViewletQuiz 3.1.5, because I wanted to use a production version. Retested, and when I viewed it was marked both completed and passed. Also tested with the ViewletBuilder 6.5 Enterprise beta (a QVP file) and works the same.
NOTE: I only tested against ViewletCentral reporting, since that's used with certificates. Not sure if Email Reporting handles this differently?
