Change narration for single PowerPoint slide

Postby gsheph » Tue Sep 14, 2010 8:10 am

If I record a sequence of PowerPoint slides and discover that the narration for a particular slide needs to be changed, how do I do that? Thank you.

Hello,

You have several ways to do this, depending on the size of your project. Here are some ideas:

-If the voice narration is already embedded in the PowerPoint presentation, make the needed change in there and then record it again creating a new ViewletCam project...this would be the best approach if this is the case.

-If you added voice narration WHILE recording and wrongly narrated a single slide, try these steps inside ViewletCam:
--Make two copies of your original project.
--Working from the copy, locate the frame along the Timeline where your audio is wrong and split your project into two separate projects at this point.
--Have JUST one of the newly separated projects open in ViewletCam and locate the frame along the Timeline where the incorrect audio ENDS.
--Split the project again at this point.
--Have JUST the project containing ONLY the portion with the incorrect audio open.
--Remove the Sound layer from this project.
--Record the audio as needed for this section and save this smaller project.
--Close all these smaller projects.
--Now, open the OTHER FULL copy you made of the entire original project.
--Locate (again) the frame along the Timeline where the audio is incorrect.
--Split this project again, saving the front (former) part of your project and deleting everything else (latter) from the frame where the audio is incorrect.
--Save the project.
--Go to the end of this project and MERGE the smaller one where you recorded the audio again.
--Save this project.
--Go to the end of this project and (finally) add back the last part of the project (originally split off when you FIRST split the original project file).
--Save the project.
--The last step is to select ALL the Sound Layers and mix them together, making sure you "sync" them with the Graphics layer.

Use the steps above or any combination to achieve the same results. I hope this helps.
